Folks, it's been a while since we've had a working website, and that issue
is being addressed.  The old site was based on a version of content
management software that was old and not very well supported.  It was also
running on an older machine that needed to be upgraded.  In the process of
upgrading the system and software, I encountered some problems with the user
accounts being migrated.  Attempting to fiddle with the database manually
didn't solve the problem either.

On January 18th, 2010, look for the "grand re-opening" of the new TCFMC.org
website.  I'll be migrating over the photos that were posted to the old
site, but the old text content will remain as-is in a read-only version of
the old site.  Until that date, I'll have a "closed for remodeling" page up
at tcfmc.org with a message similar to this one.

Since I could not retain the user info from the old site, I'll be re-adding
all the user accounts by hand.  This means that I'll be sending each of you
a link in email (shortly before the 18th) once your account has been
re-created.  That link will come from "tcfmc+do_not_reply at tcfmc.org",
telling you that your password has been reset.  Follow the link in the email
and you'll be able to choose a new password for your account.

In the new site, we'll be keeping the most useful portions of the old site,
along with adding new features or making older ones easier to use.  We'll be
concentrating on getting folks (like you!) to add content in the forums,
rather than having separate sections for photos, blogs and other content. 
This makes it easier for other folks to interact with you when you post
something!

I look forward to seeing you back on the site after the 18th.  Until then,

mailing lists are at http://lists.duonet.net
